Emma's Morning Memoir

I wake up lying on my side trying to remember what day it is. Throwing of the white bed covers I decide I’m still tired and try to go back to sleep. Finding I can’t go back to sleep I throw of my covers again and climb down the ladder of my bed, find my book under my messy bed.
Walking down the hallway into the cold living room and grab a blanket off the foot stool in the corner. Wrap the blanket around me and listen to how quiet it is in my home. Read my book until my brother gets up and turns on the TV which distracts me and eats his breakfast. I eat my cereal while trying to read my book with one hand but it doesn’t work. Leaving my bowl from my cereal on the table I walk to my bedroom. Finding my sister is still asleep I grab my torch to find my clothes to wear. I spend 10 minutes trying to find something I want to wear but I can’t find anything I want.
I slip into the living room and grab something from the pile of things that have been ironed. I go to my room and get dressed and spend 15 minutes trying to get my hair into to a plait I like. My sister wakes up and goes and moans at my mum that she wants breakfast. I do my teeth and wash my face trying not to fall asleep. Finally I go and sit on the couch and wait till I have to leave for school. Wrestling the remote for the TV off my sister I watch TV until I get up and pack my bag. Leaving I go outside and decide how i’m going to get to school and shout goodbye to my mum and leave.

Class puzzle

On the first week of school our class made a jigsaw to go on our class wall.
We each got one piece of the puzzle to personalise in what ever way we wanted to.  We could draw, spray paint, paint use computers to pick photos, stencil and many more ways.   We did this to learn and let others learn the things that the students in our class like to do watch and think about.  We started by planning what we were going to put on our puzzle piece, then we were allowed to use spray paint, paint, computers and stencils to make and personalise our puzzle pieces.  Once we all finished we put them onto the wall and this what it turned out like.
The main purpose of this exercise is to symbolise who we are individually and the different strengths we each have. More importantly it is to show what we are like as one and that we are one big family.

Ocean's Morning Memoir

  • Lights flicker on and off.
  • My brother Shakes me to wake me up.
  • "It's 7 o'clock" I hear him say.
  • I open my eyes and I see him staring down on me.
  • I lay flat on my back.
  • My cat in the corner of my bed sleeping peacefully.
  • I sluggishly push my blanket off and get out of bed.
  • I drag myself into the shower.
  • I slump into the kitchen feeling as sluggish as before.
  • I pop down some toast and wait.
  • I sit down at the table and eat away.
  • My feeling like lead as I muster up the strenth to walk.
  • I flail my arms to wake them up again as I reach for the toothbrush.
  • I throw my lunch box and my togs in my bag my Dad is waiting for me out at the car as I jump in and drive off for another day at school.

Be sun smart at school

Even though we are heading into winter and the days are colder you still have to be careful about the sun when outside.   In winter it's cold... Right.  But just because it's cold it doesn't mean that the UV rays aren't harmful, you can still get burnt no matter how cold it is.
Experts highly recommend always wearing a wide brimmed hat and sunblock SPF rating 15 or above and re-applying after swimming, towel drying and even just being out in the sun because it will dry out, crack and then fall off.
I and I'm sure lots of others will agree that it should be made compulsory for all schools for you must wear sunblock and a wide brimmed hat throughout the year even terms 2 and 3.

Gina's morning memoir.

Flick, flick, flash. Flick, flick, flash.
A light bulb in my eyes like the burning sun. “Hmmm,“ I groan. “Just 10 more minutes.” Curled up in my fluffy purple covers, Exhaustion hits me like a grenade. But the Tactix Netball team poster on my wall inspires me deeply. Shoving off my blankets moodily, I clamber around trying to find a top that would match my denim, high-rider shorts. My legs shaky and still waking up, I stumble down the hall and into the kitchen. I make my breakfast, comb my hair, brush my teeth, wash my face and pack my bag. Finally, I jump onto my bike and full of energy I race to school not wanting to be late.
